This is what we are discussing at the 32nd Scientific and Technical Conference \u201cAnticorrosion\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in Ustro\u0144, where we present the RASCoS \u2013 Robotic Automated Sustainable Coating System project, along with the poster\u00a0\u201cConcept of protection for a vacuum tunnel for high-speed Hyperloop transport\u201d<\/i>\u00a0by the project team: Katarzyna Sucho\u0144, Ewa Langer, Bartosz Kopyci\u0144ski, Szymon Zdrojewski, Lorenzo Benedetti.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
This international initiative, co-financed under the 2nd Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme, addresses a very specific challenge: how to ensure long-term material protection under conditions that differ significantly from conventional infrastructure applications.\u00a0<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
At the core of our work are coatings designed, among others, for Hyperloop vacuum tunnels \u2014 an environment where:<\/div>
\u25aa reduced pressure alters material degradation mechanisms
\u25aa temperature fluctuations and electromagnetic interactions affect durability
\u25aa substrate behavior (e.g. concrete) requires a different design approach<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
In response, we develop solutions that combine:<\/div>
\u25aa advanced coating systems (with a strong focus on bio-based materials)
\u25aa resistance to complex operational conditions
\u25aa an approach to long-term durability and maintenance
\u25aa automation of application and defect detection processes<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
