Another doctor in the Łukasiewicz – IMPIB team!

GDZIE?

We are pleased to announce that one of our research employees – Daniel Kaczor – obtained a Ph.D. in technical sciences in the discipline of mechanical engineering, pursuing an implementation doctorate at the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz.

The new doctor is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, where he completed his master’s degree in polymer chemistry. From the beginning of his professional career, he has been involved in the processing of polymer materials – he develops new composites and technologies for their production, conducts specialist research in a physical and mechanical laboratory, and is also involved in the identification of polymer materials.

In its scientific and research and development activities it can boast of:

  • co-authored 17 scientific articles,
  • 4 chapters in monographs,
  • and 5 patents.

In 2018–2024, he actively participated in research and development projects implemented in the Łukasiewicz Research Network, the total value of which exceeded PLN 5 million. The most important one is the targeted project “Building boards with the use of secondary raw materials” (REC-WIND), in which an innovative technology for the management of waste from wind farms was developed. As a result of the project, building boards and profiles were created based on ABS and PVC regranulate and grinding from used wind turbine blades.

The subject of the doctoral thesis is directly related to the mission of the institute, focusing on the development of biodegradable polymer nanocomposites modified with carbon nanotubes and graphene. The aim of the research was both the implementation of new material solutions using the Łukasiewicz – IMPIB infrastructure, as well as an in-depth analysis of the impact of processing parameters on the properties of the obtained materials.

Congratulations!
